The current 3+3 year contract commenced in 2017 and expired on 31 Jan 2023. The total contract value over the 3+3 year duration was £32,650,000 or c.£5.82m[8].
A VEAT Notice was awarded in Jan 2023 for the award of a three year contract extension with modifications from 1st February 2023 at an annual cost of £7.33 million, which is subject to indexation[8].
Within the extension period the service will move to an alternate weekly/three weekly residual waste collection service, with an introduction of a weekly food waste collection service (subject to committee approval)[8].
